Aura boosts the yield potential and governance power of DeFi users, starting with Balancer, with a generalised approach to ve-token systems.

For creating an integration with Aura, if you're familiar with Convex, Aura is similar.

LPs wishing to maximise their yield deposit Balancer BPTs into Aura's Booster, which maintains a large position of veBAL. These deposits can be tracked in Aura's BaseRewardPool contracts, which are also all ERC-4626 compliant vaults. LPs receive boosted BAL rewards and AURA emissions, along with any additional rewards for particular pools.

BAL stakers looking to maximise their positions can opt for a liquid wrapper of veBAL in the form of auraBAL (comparable to cvxCRV). Stakers or LPs of auraBAL can receive Balancer's rewards plus additional rewards on Aura.

Aura's governance token is AURA. Aura can be locked for 16 weeks to gain vlAURA (vote-locked Aura), which enables users to govern the protocol, and also direct its gauge voting power. Aura lockers receive rewards directly as auraBAL, and can also receive bribes from markets such as Redacted's Hidden Hand.
